Bungaree is an educational and recreational experience for people of all ages, be it for a day trip or a week long camp. Today Bungaree is an efficient mixed farm where you can discover how the environment is cared for, while the architecture reflects the social and work climate of the 19th Century. The Shearers' Quarters is an ideal location for school camps on a BYO sleeping bag and airbed basis. There is a large dining room and kitchen, and each room is fitted with a wood burning stove for warmth in winter and ceiling fans for the summer. The alternative is comfortable heritage cottage accommodation where beds and bedding are provided. You may bring your own food, BBQ facilities are available, but if you choose not to cook, meals can be provided at a reasonable cost. We are willing to share our knowledge of the local folklore, and those many historical and environmental issues affecting our country.

The station offers a better insight into the rural 19th century than any museum. Many of the buildings remain outwardly unchanged since the horse and buggy days and Bungaree is still run by the descendants of the founding Hawker family.
